Cyber Security Audit
We have seen increased demand for the implementation of good security practice since recent high-profile breaches (and the extra complexity of GDPR). Our clients want to have confidence in their own systems and processes, and to be able to demonstrate their consideration and compliance to outside parties.
If you are not quite sure where you currently stand in relation to IT security best practice, a Security Audit can help you identify potential weak spots in your current defenses, and show how you can improve. It can also be a useful tool to help you along the path to eventual certification - which is proof to clients and auditors alike that you take IT security seriously and have done everything in your power to prevent breaches.
How does it work?
A senior engineer will spend a day at your office, audit your systems and processes, and deliver you a report based on Cyber Essentials security criteria (for further info on Cyber Essentials, please see https://www.cyberessentials.ncsc.gov.uk/ )
What does it cover?
The scope of this audit covers:
- firewalls
- secure configuration
- user access control
- malware protection
- patch management
The engineer will require access to your systems, and time with your senior IT personnel.
After your assessment, the engineer will write up a report with their recommendations for improvement. We will include actionable advice for each point you can improve.
Then what?
Once you have received the report, you will have an accurate understanding of the security of your organisation's IT infrastructure, and awareness of any key vulnerabilities.
You can then use this to:
- demonstrate compliance/having considered security of your data,
- implement changes to improve the security of your systems, or
- give to an external IT supplier to implement the changes for you

Free IT Consultation
Do you feel like your IT doesn't empower you to succeed like you could? Unsure of whether a particular solution would fit your needs? Systems slow or causing frequent irritations?
We can help you figure out the best way forward with a free consultation.
What does a consultation involve?
For a consultation, one of our experienced IT directors would come to your office and sit down with you to discuss your aims.
We would look at what's already in place, any ideas you have, and where you'd like to see your business in the near future. We also bear in mind the budget, and any other constraints, as well as scalability and future growth plans.
Depending on the size of your business and complexity of your setup, this could take half an hour or half a day!
After the consultation we will write up our recommendations so that you can take them forward yourself, and also prepare a proposal, so you can see how we would go about implementing them.
Want to see what we think of your systems, and whether we could help you? Give us a ring now on 01223 810 000 to discuss.
